School board approves new bus, lighting and sound equipment

The Ponca City Board of Education approved the purchase of a bus from National Bus Sales on Thursday. The bus is a 2020 Ultra Coachliner SE Bus which will be the District’s new Wildcat Bus. The purchase price is $269,300 and the district receives a $10,000 credit for the 2000 Van Hool Wildcat bus as a trade-in.

The board also approved an agreement with Aspen Custom Electronics for lighting and sound equipment for the Howell Auditorium at Ponca City  High School. The company will provide and install replacement lighting and sound equipment at a cost of $48,427.91.

The new equipment is expected to be installed before The Wildcat Theatre Company’s production of “Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story” which opens on Dec. 20.
