Roosevelt students create flag project using bottle caps

The students at Roosevelt Elementary School created an American Flag project this year as a companion piece to the Oklahoma Flag mural they finished last school year.

Thousands of bottle caps were collected by students, staff, friends and family.

All students participated in the project by sorting, counting, washing, and painting the flag frame.

They brainstormed design options and glued on the lids.

Roosevelt Art Teacher Mary Morse said, “We are very pleased to leave both flags as a legacy gift to honor past, present, and future Roosevelt students.”
