‘Rocky’ event coming to The Poncan on Saturday

The original Rocky movie is coming to the big screen at The Poncan Theatre Saturday, Jan. 4.

For one day only, enjoy this classic at 2 and 7:30 p.m. With a ticket to the movie, you’ll receive access to a fight choreography workshop led by Courtney Pilkington of Stillwater at 4:30 p.m. The workshop will teach thespians new ways to perform hand-to-hand combat convincingly and safely on stage. Local boxing instructor Mark Locke will assist.

There will also be a Q&A session with professional MMA fighter Rachel Kimbrough from Joplin, Missouri, at 6 p.m. Local MMA instructor John Cameron will start the interview before opening up for questions from the audience.

Cheeky Burger from Newkirk will be parked out front for the event.

Tickets can be purchased online at https://www.poncantheatre.org/ for $5 with a $1 service charge.
