‘Road diet’ proposed for Central Avenue

Ponca City Now - May 7, 2019 10:51 am

Traffic along East Central, from Fourth Street to First Street, will see some changes if the City Commission agrees with the Planning Commission’s support for a “road diet.”

The plan, as presented by Traffic Engineering Manager Mike Lane, would change the four-lane brick road to a two-lane road with angled parking on each side. Currently there is limited parallel parking in those blocks, but increased commercial development in the area has also increased the demand for parking places. The plan would add 16 parking places.
