Remember — put it in park

A Stillwater woman learned the hard way to make sure her vehicle is in park with the parking brake on if she’s stopped by a Highway Patrol trooper.

Jacqueline Mitchell, 47, of Stillwater was stopped by Trooper Adam Beck, 27, Thursday night just before 11 p.m. on Lake Road at Edgewood in her 2004 Dodge Ram, with three juvenile passengers.

Mitchell got out of her vehicle but failed to put it in park, and it rolled into the trooper’s patrol car.

Damage to her vehicle was estimated at $100 and to the patrol car, $500.

No one was injured in the fender bender.
