OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says remains found in 2019 have been identified as those of a Chickasha man who disappeared more than three decades ago.

The OSBI said on Friday that the remains were identified by the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification as those of Alvin Stark. Stark was reported missing in May 1988 and the remains were discovered after the OSBI’s Cold Case Unit located a witness who directed them to the location.

The OSBI says a suspect identified in Stark’s death has since died.
