RecPlex ordering 35 pieces of new equipment

The RecPlex has gotten approval from city commissioners to purchase 35 pieces of new cardio equipment from Push Pedal Pull of Tulsa for $223,387.02.

In evaluating the existing equipment, 16 of 57 pieces of equipment were removed . Director Eric Newell said the center will keep the inventory at 41 pieces, which he said is adequate to accommodate members. Equipment being replaced is well used and past its useful life, Newell said.

The new equipment will be delivered three to four weeks after the company receives a purchase order from the city.

The equipment will be paid for through a portion of the city’s hotel-motel tax which is earmarked for recreational capital improvements.
