Prospect Avenue Closings – Union Street to Broughton Avenue

City of Ponca City - June 12, 2023 6:20 am

Stuever Dirtworks, LLC has entered a contract with the City of Ponca City to reconstruct portions of Prospect Avenue from the west side of Union Street to Broughton Avenue. There are large areas of deteriorated concrete pavement that will be removed and replaced. Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 12, 2023.
The project will be performed in two separate phases. Phase One will reconstruct the eastbound lanes of Prospect Avenue. During Phase One, all eastbound traffic will be shifted to the westbound inside lane and all westbound traffic will remain in the outside westbound lane through the construction zone. The traffic signals at the intersection of Union Street and Prospect Avenue will flash red throughout the duration of Phase One and all vehicles must stop before proceeding with movements through the intersection. Phase One is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete barring any weather delays.
Phase Two will begin immediately after the completion of Phase One. Phase Two will reconstruct the inside westbound lane and westbound left turn lane of Prospect Avenue. During Phase Two, eastbound traffic will flow as normal in the eastbound lanes. All westbound traffic will remain in the outside westbound lane through the construction zone. The traffic signals at the intersection of Union Street and Prospect Avenue will operate as normal during Phase Two. Phase Two is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete. The duration of the entire project is approximately six weeks, again barring any weather delays.
Signing, cones and barricades will be in place informing motorists of the construction.
