Ponca City YMCA announces several new programs starting in July

Women’s and Girls’ Self Defense will be offered Monday evenings from 6:20 to 7:20 p.m. starting July 17 at the Ponca City YMCA.

The class is free for women and girls ages 13 and older.  Women’s Self Defense will be held on the first and third Monday of each month.  Participants will learn the proper mindset and skills to never become a victim.

Youth Bully Proof class for boys and girls ages 9 to 17 will start July 24.  The ongoing classes are designed to help students develop the right mindset and response to bullying situations.  Anti-bullying classes will be held in the YMCA Program Studio from 6:20 to 7:20 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays of each month.

Free community Karate classes will be held on Saturdays in July in the YMCA Program Studio.  Classes will be held from 12:15 to 1 p.m. for boys and girls ages 10 to 18.

The Ponca City Y currently has programs for all ages.  A membership includes FREE child watch, fitness classes, aquatic programs, climbing wall, youth sports, adult sports, summer programs, after school childcare and a great place to hang out during the summer.

The Y offers adult, family, senior, single parent and youth memberships.  The YMCA of Ponca City strives to serve all segments of the community.  Within our available resources, every effort will be made to accommodate all who wish to join the Y.
