Ponca City woman injured in Osage County collision

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that a personal injury collision occurred at about 2:21 a.m. Sunday on US Highway 60, about 0.1 miles east of Remington Road, which is about 0.2 miles south of Burbank, OK in Osage County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 2009 Jeep Patriot driven by Kyleigh Riebel (SIC), 20, of Bartlesville, OK. Riebel was transported by Miller EMS to St Francis in Tulsa, where she was admitted in serious condition with head injuries.

The second vehicle involved was a 2015 Honda Accord driven by Emily Ponce (SIC), 21, of Ponca City, OK. Ponce was transported by Shidler EMS to Alliance Health Center in Ponca City, where she was treated and released.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated that Riebel’s vehicle was westbound on US Highway 60. Ponce’s vehicle was eastbound on US Highway 60. Riebel’s vehicle crossed the center line and struck Ponce’s vehicle head on. Seatbelts were equipped and in use in both vehicles. Airbags were equipped in both vehicles, but only deployed in Ponce’s vehicle. The report notes an odor of alcohol on Riebel and attributes the cause of the collision to alcohol use. Ponce’s condition was apparantly normal.
