Ponca City Public Schools Athletics has recently joined the Oklahoma Big 8 Conference.

The conference schools are Choctaw, Enid, Midwest City, Putnam City Original, Putnam City West, Putnam City North, and Ponca City. The conference currently has seven schools and looking to add one more.

Each sport will have some form of conference requirements, whether it is in the form of single game/match or tournament starting 2020-2021. Ponca City will have several opportunities to be tournament hosts. Head Coaches of each sport will be able to explain the fine details within each program.

In addition, Ponca City’s  teams will have the ability to receive conference champion awards along with individual conference accolades.

“It has been more than a decade since our schools have been a member of a conference,” Ponca City Public Schools Athletic Director Jason Leavitt said. “Scheduling has been very difficult for many of our programs and this will allow PCPS to move forward with consistency. We are even more excited about what this will do for our student athletes!”
