Ponca City Public Schools Announces 2020-2021 Learning Options

The health, safety, and education of our students is the top priority for Ponca City Public Schools.   Due to the current issues with COVID-19, we are requesting the input from our parents and students regarding the three different learning options.

Option 1:   On-site Learning: Traditional learning as typically offered – PreKindergarten through 12th Grade

Option 2:   Blended Learning: Online instruction through a curriculum management system, but allows for students to participate in athletic or fine arts activities offered by PCPS – 6th through 12th Grade

Option 3:   Total Online Instruction: Online instruction through a curriculum management system –Kindergarten through 12th Grade

If you are interested in Options 2 or 3, please send an email of your interest to [email protected] by 4:30 PM on July 16, 2020 so the district can beginning assessing staffing needs.   List the following information:

  • Name and Upcoming Grade Level of Each Child
  • Indicate the Site of Attendance If Your Child is Entering Kindergarten through 5th Grade
  • Indicate if Your Child is a Current PCPS Student
  • Provide a Contact Number
  •                                                                                                   

If you prefer Option 1, there is no need to email of your interest. Just participate in the Registration Process. Info may be found at www.pcps.us.

Options 2 and 3 will necessitate advisement on requirements, an interview process, and approval by PCPS.

  • PCPS student in a traditional school setting
  • In-person learning, conversations, and engagement
  • Social interaction with peers and staff
  • Immediate access to libraries and materials
  • Technology and Internet provided, as needed
  • Participate in all activities offered by PCPS
  • Participate in online/in-person registration beginning in July. Please see PCPS Registration press release located at www.pcps.us.

 

  • Remain a PCPS student
  • Curriculum management system used for online instruction
  • Supervised by PCPS certified teacher with regular contact with student and parent
  • Technology and Internet provided, as needed
  • Participate in school-sponsored athletic and fine arts programs
  • Participate in online/in-person registration beginning in July.   Please see PCPS Registration press release located at www.pcps.us.
