Ponca City Police Dept. Releases Statement About Todays Threat of Violence at Schools in America

The Ponca City Police Department is aware of multiple threats to perform acts of violence at schools across the United States. At this time, we have no information to indicate any current threats to any schools in the Ponca City area.
We are currently working closely with Ponca City Public Schools to monitor the situation and we want to ensure the community that the safety and welfare of our schools, students, and staff will always be our utmost priority.
In the event we receive any new information that indicates any cause for concern for our community or our schools, we will take appropriate actions to ensure our community remains safe.
We also want to take this time to remind everyone that spreading false information, especially information that is harmful to the health and safety of our community, is rarely beneficial.
If you see or receive any information regarding threats to our schools or our citizens, please contact the Ponca City Police Department rather than spreading disinformation on social media.
