Ponca City Police Department Receive Federal Money

Ponca City Now - September 5, 2013 11:56 am

Ponca City police department has finally received its reward for helping seize a drug dealer in 2010.

The department received more than $6,000.

Police Chief, Don Bohon says they will be buying four new firearms, new hand held radios and tactical tourniquets.

“How it is spent there are parameters in which you can spend it,” Bohon said. “You can spend it on equipment, training to further the law enforcement goal, you can spend it on overtime and things like that toward a drug investigation.”

Bohon says they have sent in paperwork annually since the seizure and have been waiting on this money.

Multiple forces, such as the DEA and a metro agency helped bring this dealer down.
