Ponca City Medical Center ask public to nominate nurses for award

Ponca City Now - April 25, 2014 6:46 am

The Ponca City Medical Center is asking for you to share your experiences with their nurse.

These experiences will be evaluated and a nurse will be chosen to receive the Patient Choice award.

Eric Lybarger, Ponca City Medical Center Marketing Director Said to nominate a nurse you have to have been a patient or family of a patient in the past year.

“There are several ways to nominate a nurse, you can go to our website under the community section there’s a press section and there is an article about the award, and within that you can select my email and send them directly to me or we accept fax nominations, 765-0341 is the fax number to send that to," Lybarger said. "What we ask people to do is give us the story about why it was a good experience and why they think that person deserves to be the Patient Choice Award winner.”

Nominations will be accepted until May 5.

The winner will receive $100, a plaque and community recognition.

Lybarger said nurses are the frontline care givers.

“Those are relationships that last a long time, because when you’re in the hospital it’s a very emotional time," Lybarger said. "When someone reaches out to you and treats you right, and treats your family right that’s very special. We really do get some really nice stories from this event that we have.”

The winner will be announced during National Nurse Week May 6 through 12.
