Ponca City Man in Critical Condition After Motorcycle Crash

A Ponca City man is in critical condition after colliding with a parked car on Sunday, July 17 at approximately 11:20 pm on northbound I-35 near mile marker 207, approximately 3 miles north and 5.5 miles east of Billings in Noble County.

A 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by (name withheld pending next of kin notification) a white male, age 43 of Ponca City, was traveling northbound on I-35, drifted onto the outside shoulder and hit a unoccupied 1999 Ford Taurus legally parked on shoulder.

The motorcycle then departed the roadway to the left into the center median and the driver was thrown from the motorcycle.

The unidentified driver was transported by Air Evac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and admitted in critical condition with head, trunk internal, arm and leg injuries.

Condition of the driver and cause of the accident is cited as DUI-drugs by investigating officers. The driver was not wearing a helmet.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Crompton of the Kay/Noble County detachment of Troop K and assisted by Tonkawa Police Department, Tonkawa Fire Department, and Tonkawa EMS.
