A 20-year-old man who suffered a gunshot wound to the head Thursday night has died, Ponca City Police confirm.

Police received a call at 8:56 p.m. Thursday reporting that Shon Matthew Delodge, 20, was shot at 1213 North Oak Street.  Delodge was transported to Alliance Health Ponca City, then transported to the OU Trauma Center in Oklahoma City.

Ponca City Police Captain Randy Tyner said he was notified Delodge died overnight from his injuries.

Tyner said officers and detectives responded to the address on North Oak Street and “spent the better part of the night investigating and interviewing everyone who was there. Everyone who was at the house is giving us a statement.”

He said officers and detectives will continue to evaluate the information from their investigation Friday afternoon, along with evidence that was found.

Tyner said police also will interview others who may  not have been at the scene Thursday night.

“We have no suspect that we are willing to name at this time,” Tyner said. “Anyone with information is asked to proactively contact us. There are others who may have information we have not spoken with yet.”

Tyner said police are still searching for a weapon.  He added that the resident of the home is a relative of Delodge’s girlfriend.

Police provided heavy extra patrol to the area overnight and conducted a search warrant.
