Ponca City gets a taste of Washington

Ponca City is getting a taste of Washington today. Third District U.S. Representative, Frank Lucas is hosting a Town Hall meeting at the library this afternoon. Lucas said this is your chance to have a say in what’s going on at the nation’s capital.
“I suspect we’ll have questions about the Ebola challenges in west Africa and what’s going on in Dallas," Lucas said. "I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if we have discussion about Islamic state, militant move in the middle east and the deaths of various Americans. Don’t be surprised if we discuss how the budget comes to a conclusion.”
The Farm Bill is another topic he expects to discuss. Lucas said any topic imaginable is fair game.
“We go around and give everybody a chance to give an opinion, advice, ask a question," Lucas said. "Once everybody has gone we go again, that way everybody has an opportunity to discuss what’s important with them. And that’s what make these town meetings so important for me, the give and take, look each other in the eye.”
He will be in the Ponca City Library’s program room from 2:30 to 3:30.
Lucas is up for reelection and is facing Democrat, Frankie Robbins on the Nov. 4 ballot.
