Ponca City DECA Attends Conference

Members of Ponca City High School DECA joined 23,000 members at the International Career Development Conference held this past week at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.

The DECA ICDC is the culmination of the DECA year with students, advisors, business professionals, and alumni gathering for several days of DECA leadership and competitions.

Members attending include Benton Holloway competing in Automotive Services Management, Kyler Cox and Emma Bickford competing in the Financial Literacy Project and Lily Godfrey, Hannah Haney, and Addison George competing in the Sales Project which they received an award for competency level in the event.

Ponca City DECA chapter was 1 of only 3 Oklahoma Chapters receiving the National DECA Thrive Award for promotions of their chapter and chapter community service.

“DECA ICDC is an amazing opportunity for high school students to grow in their understanding of the marketing, finance, hospitality, and management world and what is out there for them in the future,” said Heather Monks, Ponca City DECA Advisor who also attended the event.
