Police officers have new branch office at Pioneer Technology Center

Ponca City Now - April 22, 2015 9:00 am

The Ponca City Police Department has a new spot to work at Pioneer Technology Center. In an agreement with the center, officers now have an office where they can work on reports and visit with individuals who may be reluctant to walk into a police station to meet with an officer.

This allows officers to stay closer to their beat and be better able to respond to potential calls quicker than if they were responding from the police station. City Manager Craig Stephenson said this does not mean an officer will be at the center full time, but it does provide for increased visibility in the area. The partnership was arranged by Deputy Chief Anthony Rogers and Pioneer Tech Superintendent Bruce Demuth. Stephenson said the department is looking for other potential arrangements in other areas of the community.
