Police investigating death

The Ponca City Police Department issued a press release at 7 p.m. Wednesday reporting that at 2:30 p.m., a 911 caller reported a death to the Communications Center.

Police and ambulance personnel responded to a home in the 800 block of West Emporia.

A representative from the Kay County Sheriff’s Office and the 8th District Attorney’s Officer responded as well.

The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the exact cause of death. The identity of the person has not been released at this point in the investigation.

The investigation is continuing and additional details will be available for release tomorrow.
