Ponca City Now - November 1, 2013 9:14 am

Ponca City high school’s homecoming football game is tonight, but another Po-Hi team is competing this weekend.

The robotics team is competing Saturday for a chance to go to a national competition in California.

The robotics team members said there is something for everybody in robotics.

Wade VanDaburgh said not everyone has to like building robots.

"There are other roles than specifically building robots," VanDaburgh said. If you don’t like the actual part of building it there is something else you can do. like programing or maybe you can help design something. We have someone who takes pictures of everything maybe you can get into that."

Another team member, Adam Riggs said there are awards for good business plans, too.

And Blake Scott said robotics is simply promoting science and technology through games.

There will be 30 teams from five states competing in the Ponca City high school old boys gym.

Everyone is invited to check it out free of cost.
