Ponca City Public Schools —

The Po-Hi Symphony String Orchestra earned three superior ratings on Wednesday at the Oklahoma State Secondary Activities Association (OSSAA) Regional String Orchestra Concert held at Edmond Santa Fe High School.

The orchestra is under the direction of Paula Cochran with assistant directors Katie Rolf, Ella Gordon, and Andrew Orr.

“We are thrilled to be continuing the legacy of Mr. Dan Larson by earning superior ratings. There is nothing more satisfying than directing a group of students who not only play well technically but play with heart,” said director Paula Cochran. “This rating reflects their hard work and commitment to excellence. The opportunity to travel again has created moments we will never forget.”

A Holiday Concert will be held at 7 pm on December 14th at the Ponca City Public Schools Concert Hall and will feature the Symphony Strings, Symphonic Brass, Winds, Percussion, and select members of the Philharmonic Orchestra.

This concert also features the Po-Hi Chorale, under the direction of Chad Keilman, and the First Christian Church Chalice Carillon Handbell Choir, under the direction of Andrew Orr.
