Po-Hi orchestra to perform in Tulsa

The Ponca City High School Symphony Strings will present an Honor Concert for the Oklahoma Music Educators Association Convention on Jan. 23.

Their performance will take place at 8:15 p.m. in the Assembly Hall of the Tulsa Convention Center, north of the Downtown Doubletree Hotel.

Director of Orchestras at the high school is Dan P. Larson. He is assisted by Paula Cochran and Katie Rolf.

This will be the seventh appearance for the Po-Hi Orchestra with Larson as its conductor at the OMEA Convention.

“It is always wonderful to have a large contingent from our community at these honor concerts," Larson said. "Our young musicians have worked incredibly hard and will represent our school and community proudly at the OMEA Convention.”

There is a $5 admission charge at the door and the public is invited.

The Bartlesville High School Symphony Orchestra will begin the evening with a concert at 7:30 p.m. and the University of Tulsa will conclude the night of orchestra music at 9:00 p.m. Admission covers all concerts.
