The Ponca City Public School district has selected a new assistant principal for the senior High School.
Jamie Morgan will replace Thad Dilbeck, who was promoted to high school principal.
Morgan said she is ready to start work Aug. 1.
"I’m excited to join Ponca City Public Schools and look forward to building many strong, positive relationships with students, faculty, parents and the community," Morgan said. "I’ve heard great things about the school’s academic success and am proud to become part of a great team of educators committed to preparing students for the future."
Superintendent David Pennington said Morgan will be a good fit.
"Ms. Morgan will make a nice addition to the high school administrative team," Pennington said. "We believe that Ms. Morgan’s combination of experience and leadership potential makes her the ideal candidate for the assistant principal position at the high school."
Morgan attended high school in Amarillo, Texas.
She played basket ball in college at Oklahoma State University and Southern Nazarene University and received her Bachelor of Science from those schools.
She received a Masters of Educational Administration at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Okla. and Master of Business Administration and Management at Southern Nazarene University.
She has taught at both Mustang North Middle School and Mustang High School in Mustang, Okla.
While at Mustang High School she also coached basketball and was the assistant cheer and pom coach.
