Playhouse to present Midsummer Night’s Dream

Lysander loves Hermia, and Hermia loves Lysander. Helena loves Demetrius; Demetrius used to love Helena but now love Hermia.

Egeus, Hermia’s father, prefers Demetrius as a suitor, and enlists the aid of Theseus, the Duke of Athens, to enforce his wishes upon his daughter.

One of Shakespeare’s most performed, adapted and loved plays, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” features fairies, a play within a play, lovers, fathers, daughters, forest creatures, remorse and forgiveness. It will be performed Jan. 11-13 and Jan. 18-20 at the Ponca Playhouse, 301 South First Street.

The will be the first time Shakespeare will be performed at the Playhouse.

Box office hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Phone (580) 765-5360. Tickets are $16, or $11 for students.  Performance times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday.
