Planning Commission approves zoning change on North 14th Street

Ponca City Now - October 2, 2019 12:21 pm

The Ponca City Planning Commission on Tuesday approved a recommendation to rezone a business node in the 700 block of North 14th Street from C-1 local commercial to C-2 General Commercial.

For more than 50 years the node has not been zoned correctly for the group of businesses operating there. The move was prompted by a request from a business owner who wanted to expand his mini storage business.

City Development Services staff took the opportunity to bring all businesses in the node into compliance with city ordinances by changing the zoning to align with the type of businesses in the area.

The matter goes to the City Commission for final action on Oct. 14.
