Planning Commission approves sign ordinance amendment

Ponca City Now - November 4, 2015 8:03 am

The Ponca City Planning Commission voted Tuesday night to approve an amendment to the city’s sign ordinance to allow businesses to use so-called "feather banners" on their properties.

Feather banners are vertical banners which wave when the wind blows them. They are staked into the ground on a pole and usually have a curved shape. They will have to comply with other portions of the sign ordinance, including spacing requirements. The height requirement also was removed for these banners.

The amendment will go to the City Commission for final action.
