Pioneer Tech Achieves Success in Student Placement and Certifications

Ponca City, OK—– Pioneer Technology Center (PTC) is proud to announce exceptional achievements in student placement, certification accomplishments, and workforce contributions, showcasing the continued success of its programs and the dedication of its students and staff.

In FY24, PTC exceeded expectations in key areas. An impressive 91.22% of career major completers were placed in related occupations, military service, or continuing education, surpassing state averages. PTC ranked 9th in the state for career major completer placements, reflecting the district’s effectiveness in preparing students for meaningful careers. Equally noteworthy, PTC achieved a 0% unknown completer rate, tying for 1st place in the state with four other schools and significantly outperforming the state average of 1.76%.

The year also marked historic success in certifications and wages. PTC students earned 1,059 industry-recognized certifications, the highest number recorded in the school’s history. The average wage for program completers reached $19.82, with standout achievements including $75/hour in Cosmetology and $44/hour in Welding. These accomplishments highlight PTC’s commitment to providing students with the skills and credentials necessary for high-paying careers.

Pioneer Tech’s impact extends beyond individual achievements to benefit the community as a whole. Local businesses hired multiple PTC graduates, with notable employers including Ponca City Police (5 hires), City of Tonkawa (5 hires), Integris Ponca City (4 hires), and Mertz Manufacturing (4 hires). These partnerships strengthen the local workforce and demonstrate the value of PTC’s programs to area employers.
