Personal Injury Collision in Payne County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a personal injury collision occurred about 2:43 a.m. Sunday on State Highway 51, about 0.4 miles west of Stillwater, OK in Payne County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 1999 Ford Explorer driven by Patience M. Sartor (SIC), 22, of Stillwater, OK. Sartor was transported by LifeNet, in stable condition, to Stillwater Medical Center where she was treated and released for trunk internal and head injuries.

A passenger in the vehicle, Micah D. Hopkins (SIC), 22, also of Stillwater, OK was transported by LifeNet ambulance to Stillwater Medical Center, where he was then transferred to Saint John’s Hospital in Tulsa, OK, where he was admitted in stable condition for head, trunk internal, and leg injuries.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated that the vehicle was westbound on State Highway 51 when the driver stated that an animal ran out in front of the vehicle. The vehicle swerved left, entering the center median, and rolled an undetermined number of times before coming to rest on its wheels in the eastbound lanes of travel. Seatbelts were equipped, but only in use by the driver. The condition of the driver and the cause of the collision are listed as being under investigation.
