The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a personal injury collision occurred at about 10:47 p.m. Wednesday on Underwood Road about 500 feet of 19th Street, which is about 2 miles south of Yale, OK in Payne County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 2007 Dodge Caliber driven by Brook Nicholle Patterson (SIC), 34, of Drumright, OK. Patterson was transported by ambulance to Stillwater Medical Center, then transferred to St. Francis in Tulsa in stable condition with head, trunk internal, arm, and leg injuries.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated that the vehicle was travelling southbound, was driving too fast for conditions, lost control at 19th and Underwood, departed the roadway left, struck a tree, rolled one half of a time onto its top, and came to rest in the roadway. The report notes that it was two-lane, undivided gravel roadway. The condition of the driver was apparently normal and the cause of the collision is attributed to unsafe speed.

Investigated by Trooper Ryan Long #541 of the Payne County detachment. Assisted by Cushing Fire Department, Yale Fire Department, and Yale Police Department.

This report is based upon the trooper’s investigation of this collision. It may contain the opinion of the trooper.
