Personal Injury Collision in Payne County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a personal injury collision occurred about 5:58 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of county road Yost and county road Brush Creek about 1.5 miles north of Stillwater, OK in Payne County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 2005 black Dodge Ram 1500 Pickup driven by Shelby S. McMillen, 21, of Piedmont, Oklahoma. McMillen was transported by Life Net Ambulance to Stillwater Medical Center in stable condition, where he was treated and released for head injuries.

The second vehicle involved was a 2000 red Pontiac Grand Am driven by Tayler J Perry, 21, of Miami, OK. Perry was transported by Life Net Ambulance to Stillwater Medical Center in stable condition, where he was admitted for whole body injuries.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated McMillen’s vehicle was northbound on county road Brush Creek road at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at a stop sign. Perry’s vehicle was eastbound on county road Yost approaching the intersection of county road Brush Creek. McMillen’s vehicle struck Perry’s vehicle, causing Perry’s vehicle to depart the roadway to the left, proceeding through a fence and roll one half times coming to rest on its top. The condition of both drivers is listed as apparently normal. Seatbelts were equipped and in use in both vehicles. The report notes rainy weather conditions and the cause of the collision is listed as reckless driving.
