Personal Injury Collision in Pawnee County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a personal injury collision occurred about 2:34 a.m. Tuesday on US64 about 6 miles south of Cleveland, OK in Pawnee County.
The patrol said the accident involved a 2009 Toyota Tundra Pickup driven by Elbert D. Foster, 79, of Tulsa, OK. Foster transported to Cleveland Hospital in Cleveland, OK by Creek County EMS. He was admitted with arm and trunk external injuries. He is listed in good condition.
The second vehicle involved was a 2012 Ford F150 Pickup driven by Zachary J. King, 31, of Cleveland, OK. King was transported to Cleveland Hospital in Cleveland, OK, by Mercy EMS, where he was treated and released.
A passenger in King’s vehicle, Larry King, 59, of Cleveland, OK was transported to St. John’s in Tulsa, OK by Mercy EMS, where he was admitted with internal and back injuries. He is listed in stable condition.
The Highway Patrol’s report stated Foster’s vehicle was east bound on US64. King’s vehicle was stopped at a red light in the construction zone on US64 east bound. Foster’s vehicle approached King’s vehicle from the rear at a high rate of speed impacting King’s vehicle. King’s vehicle then departed the roadway to the right striking the stop light. Seatbelts were equipped and in use in both vehicles. The report notes that the condition of both drivers was apparently normal. The cause of the collision is attributed to inattentive driving.
