Personal Injury Collision in Osage County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a personal injury collision occurred about 8:42 p.m. Friday on County Road 2230 about 0.4 miles west of McCoy Lane in the Town of Avant located in Osage County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 2000 Chevrolet pickup driven by Gary Dale Asher, 57, of Avant, OK. Asher was transported by Life-Flight to St. Johns Hospital in Tulsa, OK where he was admitted in critical condition with trunk internal injuries.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated Asher’s vehicle was westbound on County Road 2230. The vehicle went left of center. Asher overcorrected and went into a broad slide. The vehicle departed the roadway to the right. The vehicle collided with an embankment and rolled one time. Asher was ejected 57 feet. Seatbelts were equipped, but not in use. An airbag was equipped, but did not deploy. The condition of the driver at the time of the accident and the cause of the collision are still pending investigation.
