The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that a personal injury collision occurred at about 12:57 p.m. Sunday on SH 18, about 4.5 miles south and 2 miles east of Shidler, OK in Osage County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Delbert L. Adams, 70, of Blackwell, OK. Adams was transported by Shidler EMS to Alliance Health Hospital in Ponca City, Oklahoma. He was later transported by LifeMed to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he was admitted in stable condition with head, trunk internal, trunk external, arm, and hand injuries.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated that Adams’ vehicle was travelling northbound on SH 18, attempting to negotiate a curve, and departed the roadway to the right, coming to rest on its side. A helmet was not in use. The condition of the driver was apparently normal and the cause of the collision is attributed to a failure to maintain lane.

Investigated by Trooper Derek Hempel K798 of the Osage/Pawnee Detachment of Troop K-Perry. Assisted by Osage County Sheriff’s Office, Shilder Fire Department, and Shidler EMS.

This report is based upon the trooper’s investigation of this collision. It may contain the opinion of the trooper.
