The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a personal injury collision occurred about 3:32 p.m. Sunday on I35 southbound at mile marker 218, about 3 miles north of Tonakwa, OK in Kay County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 2017 Volvo driven by Farkhodjon Khomidov (SIC), 48, of Covington, WA. Khomidov was not injured.

A passenger in Khomidov’s vehicle, Anatoliy Zhuchenya (SIC), 52, of Troutdale, OR was also not injured.

The second vehicle involved was driven by Mitchell Armstrong, 53, of Colorado Springs, CO. Armstrong was transported by Blackwell EMS to Blackwell Hospital and then to Wesley, where he was admitted in stable condition with arm injuries.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated Khomidov’s vehicle was stopped on the southbound shoulder. Armstrong’s vehicle was southbound in the outside lane of I35. Armstrong’s vehicle departed the roadway to the right and struck Khomidov’s vehicle in the driver side trailer. Seatbelts were equipped in both vehicles and in use by both drivers. The condition of both drivers was apparently normal and the cause of the collision is attributed to inattention.
