Personal injury collision in Kay County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that a personal injury collision occurred at about 1:06 p.m. Saturday on I35 northbound at mile marker 228.5, about 1.3 miles southwest of Braman, OK in Kay County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 2006 Nissan Sentra driven by John Walker, 72, of Russelville, Arkansas. Walker was transported by Air Evac and admitted to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, in fair condition due to internal trunk injuries.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated that Walker’s vehicle was traveling northbound on Interstate 35. The vehicle departed the roadway to the left, striking a guardrail and a cable barrier before rolling one time over the guardrail, coming to rest on its wheels. Seatbelts were equipped and in use. Airbags were equpped and delpoyed. The report indicates that the collision was caused by a medical incident.
