Perkins man injured in Payne County accident

A 68-year-old Perkins man was injured in a collision at 9:15 a.m. Monday on State Highway 33, about 4 miles west of Cushing in Payne County.

Sherman Suttles was driving a 2005 Toyota eastbound on SH 33 and went left of center, striking a westbound 2009 Mack truck head on. The truck was driven by Lewis Davis, 64, of Crescent.

Suttles was transported by Cushing EMS to the Cushing Hospital, where he was transferred by Cushing EMS to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was admitted there in serious condition with multiple injuries.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that Suttles was pinned for 20 minutes before he was freed by the Cushing Fire Department.

There were no other passengers in either vehicle, the Patrol reported.
