Pedestrian struck leaving Po Hi football game

A 78-year-old Shidler resident leaving the Po Hi football game was crossing Fifth Street, inside the crosswalk, when she was struck by a passing motorist, Ponca City Police reported late Friday night.

The Communications center received numerous calls at approximately 8:50 p.m. reporting the accident and immediately dispatched emergency responders. A medical helicopter was launched and landed in Ponca City to transport the victim to a trauma facility.

The victim was transported by Ponca City ambulance to Alliance Health of Ponca City, where she was being treated and awaiting transport to a medical trauma facility at the time of this release Friday night. She is in critical condition. The female driver, age 36, from Ponca City, was not injured.
