PCPS Announces Wildcat of the Week: Steven Faulkner

Mike Seals - October 15, 2020 9:59 pm

The Heather Cannon Wildcat of the Week for Week #4 for the 2020-2021 School Year is Po-Hi Senior, Steven Faulkner.

Superintendent Shelley Arrott said, “The Wildcat of the Week for Week #4, Steven Faulkner, consistently represents every characteristic of the Wildcat Way. As a 4th year Varsity Wildcat Basketball Player, Steven has demonstrated to every Wildcat what it takes to improve your game. Without doubt, he knows that it takes a strong work ethic, competing attitude and teamwork, and he proves he is committed to being best each day. Steven comes to Robson every morning at 5:30 to practice so he can master his craft as an effective shooter. Those who have watched him play basketball know he can knock down a three pointer with a soft touch.”

“His smooth, free-flowing shot was developed through many hours and repetitions of practice. Coach McFarlin says that even when Steven practices, he does so with a high level of competitiveness, which is a great model for younger Wildcats to aspire. He spends lots of time mentoring younger players because he knows teamwork makes the dreamwork! Steven is selfless when it comes to being a team leader and it shows as the Wildcats have continually improved their team game the last few years!”

“Not only is Steven a hardworking athlete on the court, but he strives to make his studies a top priority as well,” continued Arrott. “He is well-liked and respected by his peers because he is a loyal and true friend. Teachers also respect Steven because he is so polite and hard working. Steven exhibits a positive, motivating attitude at all times and represents this positive attitude with an ease and mildness, which others strive to emulate.”

“Steven, it has been a pleasure to watch you grow as an athlete and young man these last few years. Each basketball season, it is obvious that you dedicate yourself to improving your game and it is amazing to see your growth as a player. I cannot wait to see you and the Wildcats play basketball this season, and I know great things are in the future for the team and for you personally. Thank you being such a wonderful example of Wildcat Pride. You make us all so proud!”
