PCPS Announces Wildcat of the Week: Breann Ross

Mike Seals - October 27, 2020 9:31 am

The Heather Cannon Wildcat of the Week for Week #5 for the 2020-2021 School Year is Po-Hi Senior, Breann Ross. Superintendent Shelley Arrott said, “The Wildcat of the Week for Week #5, Breann Ross, is another member of the Big Blue Band. Breann is a member of the Big Blue Colorguard Squad, and everyone I talked to about Breann consistently said her work ethic is impeccable. Her motto for band is, ‘If you are on time, you are late, and if you are early, you are on time’. She stays true to her motto because she is always ready and practicing early and pushes the other members of the band to do the same.”

“Breann is a virtual Wildcat and her teachers report that she always submits her work on time and stays ahead of progress with her virtual instruction. To be successful with virtual learning, it takes a highly driven and self-motivating individual since virtual instruction is self-paced. In addition to staying busy focusing on becoming her personal best as a student and member of the colorguard, Breann is also a member of the Po-Hi FFA and works very hard to learn more about agriscience. She is dedicated to everything in which she is involved.”

“Not only is Breann highly motivated with her studies and activities, but she is very respectful to her friends and teachers; actually to anyone she encounters. Her attitude is always positive, and one will always see her smiling. She brightens the days of others by bringing a smile to everyone’s face.

“Breann, it was an honor to present this award to you at band practice this morning. Just from watching your deliberate practice today, I can tell your work ethic and grit will lead you to great success in your life. I definitely believe that a strong work ethic, grit, and perseverance are hallmarks of high achievers, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for you. You will accomplish great achievements throughout your life. Thank you being such a great model of the Wildcat Way. Your family and school family members, including the staff and students, are very proud of you! I am so glad you are a Ponca City Wildcat!”

The Wildcat of the Week receives a Wildcat of the Week T-shirt, a Wildcat window sticker, and a coupon for a delicious burger basket from Ground Round. The award is sponsored by TEAM Radio, Heather Cannon Honda, Tyndall Family Dentistry, Ground Round, and Legacy Signs. The award is open to ANY Ponca City High School student. TEAM Radio makes the final selections and coordinates with school officials for presentations.
