PCPS Announces Distance Learning for Thursday, February 18

Ponca City Public School District will continue with Distance Learning on Thursday, February 18. Our lots are cleared and ready to go but we still have some hazardous bus routes and poor walking conditions. We are also concerned about the issues that could arise in the morning due to the slushing from today freezing again tonight. However, according to forecasts, there should be great progress with melting tomorrow, and our goal is to return to in-person instruction on Friday.

Activities are cancelled for Thursday, February 18, as well.  OSSAA or the opponent schools had previously postponed or cancelled events for Thursday, February 18 due to inclement weather.

Meals are going to be available on Thursday, February 18 for all Ponca City children, ages 1-18, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at two of our locations. These locations are Ponca City Senior High School and West Middle School. Meals will include breakfast and a “Chicken Day” Lunch. Children do not have to be in the vehicle; however, the names of children must be provided.

We are bringing in more of our employees to work on-site tomorrow, Thursday, February 18. PCPS employees need to closely monitor their “All Employee” email for further guidance. We are looking forward to seeing our Wildcats on Friday! A press release and app notification push on Thursday will be sent to confirm the decision on Friday.
