PCPD Looking for Suspect Involved in Burglary at Big Hill Pawn

Shortly after midnight on October 21st, a burglary occurred at Big Hill Pawn, located at 510 N. 1st St. in Ponca City. The suspect, Michael Phillip Lefthand, hooked a chain up to the front doors of the business and used a truck to pull the front doors off. Lefthand grabbed multiple firearms from inside the pawn shop and drove away. Multiple officers from the Ponca City Police Department and the Kay County Sherriff’s Office were later involved in a vehicle pursuit with Lefthand in which he eventually crashed his vehicle. Following the pursuit, Lefthand ran from the scene and escaped on foot, carrying a black pump-action Citadel 12 gauge shotgun with a pistol grip.
The Ponca City Police Department is asking for assistance from the public in locating Michael Lefthand. He is currently on probation for previous felony convictions and should be considered armed and dangerous.
