Payne County Fatality Accident

A 69-year-old woman from Perkins was killed Sunday, the 7th of June, about about 3:45 p.m. on State Highway 33 2 miles west of Drumright, Oklahoma in Payne County.

Carolyn Wentzel was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt westbound on the highway when she missed a right-hand curve and for an unknown reason let the roadway, striking a culvert, causing the vehicle to go airborne and to roll end-over-end, coming to rest on it roof.

Wentzel was transported by Cushing EMS to Hillcrest Hospital in Cushing. She was pronounced dead at the hospital from injuries sustained in collision.
