Pawnee Public Schools Closed on Friday After Citywide Storm Damage

Pawnee Public Schools is closed on Friday, Sept. 20 due to citywide storm damage.

Pawnee was hit by severe weather on Thursday.

The school said a decision will be made about Friday’s football game after the damage is assessed.

The district canceled Thursday night’s homecoming activities ahead of the storm.

The City of Pawnee posted on Facebook Thursday night that electric poles were downed throughout the town and emergency assistance was called to help get power back on.

“There is a significant amount of damage, several road closures, and emergency crews throughout town,” the city said in a post just before 8 p.m. on Thursday.

The Pawnee Nation Law Enforcement located at 1200 Heritage Circle is open to anybody affected by the storm.
