OSU women fall 68-66 to TCU in second round of Big 12 Tournament

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Una Jovanovic scored a season-high 22 points, Sedona Prince made the go-ahead free throws with 29 seconds left and ninth-seeded TCU beat eighth-seeded Oklahoma State 68-66 in the second round of the Big 12 Tournament on Friday.

The Horned Frogs (20-10) advance to take on top seed and 19th-ranked Oklahoma in a quarterfinal on Saturday. TCU lost at Oklahoma 72-55 on February 7th.

Jovanovic was 9-of-13 shooting with four 3-pointers and five assists. Agnes Emma-Nnopu hit five 3s and finished with 17 points and eight rebounds. Prince scored 13 points.

Emma-Nnopu hit consecutive 3-pointers to tie the game at 60-all midway through the final quarter and the scoring went back-and-forth, finishing with Prince’s free throws.

Oklahoma State called timeout with 22 seconds left. With fouls to give, TCU got the clock down to 3.3. Asi took the inbounds but missed a well-defended shot at the buzzer.

Quincy Noble made four 3-pointers and scored 26 points to lead the Cowgirls (14-16). Rylee Langerman and Anna Gret Asi added 12 points each. Stailee Heard had 14 rebounds to go with nine points and six assists.

An 8-0 run to end the first half gave TCU a 33-25 lead.

A 3-pointer by Conner gave TCU is largest lead of 12 in the third quarter but OSU went on a 18-5 run over the final five minutes for a 50-49 edge heading into the fourth. OSU took its largest lead of six before Emma-Nnopu hit her two 3s.
