OSU Master Gardener Classes Beginning Soon

NEWKIRK —  The Kay County OSU Extension will be hosting 11 weekly classes on how to become an OSU Master Gardener.

The 11 courses begin on Aug. 24 on and will meet each Tuesday from 9 a.m. -2 p.m at Pioneer Technology Center in Ponca City.  The course ends on Nov. 9.

The cost of the program is $120, but includes all materials needed.

Participants will make “dirt babies” with Newkirk Elementary students, host an educational booth on the life cycle of a monarch butterfly at the Kay County Free Fair, hand out plants at the Ponca City Herb Festival, and maint a display garden at Cann Gardens in Ponca City.
