OSBI offers reward in McCurtain County homicide

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information in a McCurtain County homicide.

On Nov. 11, 2016, the McCurtain County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a death at 1212 Ribbon Fish Road in the Smithville area of McCurtain County.

Deputies found 53-year-old Jimmy Barrett dead on the floor of his residence, which was a camper. According to the medical examiner’s office, Barrett died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Barrett was last seen when he left from his job in Idabel on the evening of Nov. 8, 2016.
