OSBI: McClain County deputy wounds man holding gun

DIBBLE, Okla. (AP) – Authorities say a McClain County Sheriff's Department deputy shot and wounded a man early Monday.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says authorities responded to a shots fired call in Dibble at about 3 a.m. Monday. The OSBI says a man opened a door with a gun in his in hand and raised the gun at officers. Authorities say a McClain County deputy then shot the man, who was taken to a hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

Authorities say no officers were injured.

The McClain County Sheriff's Department requested that the OSBI investigate, and the findings will be forwarded to a prosecutor to determine whether the shooting was justified.
