OSBI investigating woman’s death in Vinita

At approximately 7:30 a.m. Monday, a juvenile male entered the Vinita Police Department and reported he had killed his stepmother at their Vinita home.

Officers went to the home and found Laura Beth Hendrix, 38, dead inside. The Vinita Police Department asked Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation investigative and crime scene agents to help work the case.

Numerous OSBI special agents are at the scene collecting information and evidence. The medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of Hendricks’ death.

The juvenile male is in police custody. No arrest has been made at this time.
